What I’m learning from Darling in the Franxx

I know everyone and their grandma is into this anime, but this has personally influenced me in more ways than one.

I. LIVE LIKE YOU MEAN IT
The theme in the series is desparation, admist a lot of seeming complacency and nihilism. Our protagonists seem to stand out as individuals against a whole system which seem more inclined to accept the status quo. It’s not enough to live, but live for something you live. Fight for something you love. Be with the people you care about. Make your life meaningful.

II. SOLVE IT TOGETHER
There’s a lot of conflict in the series, but our protagonists never give up. They don’t ever just let the other side win – they express what they feel until something is hammered out. I think too often we avoid or over-confront things because it’s easier. It’s harder to be vulnerable and be willing to get hurt to fix something. It’s so much harder to fix something, but it’s so worth it.

III. DO WHAT YOU FEAR
I don’t mean this in the trope main character plot armor way, but so many times our protagonists risk their lives not expecting to survive. They put something greater above themselves and they commit. Life is full of hard commits, and it’s the only way you grow.

Okay, back to Fanime editing for me. I’ve babbled too long xD. You probably don’t care.
